Move a player to a different team
Move a player
- Open Teams in the sidebar. Tap the team they are on now.
- Tap Roster. Find the player.
- Tap Move.
- Pick the team they are going to.
- Tap Save.
What moves with them
Section titled “What moves with them”- Their sign-up and their payment. Nothing is refunded and nothing is charged.
- The form their family signed.
- Their record from earlier in the season.
What does not move
Section titled “What does not move”- Stats already recorded stay with the games they were recorded in. A goal scored for the Hawks stays a Hawks goal. That is on purpose — the score of a game that has been played does not change.
- Messages already sent to the old team stay there.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”A league admin, or a team manager on both teams. A head coach can change their own roster but cannot move a player onto someone else’s team — that needs the other team’s agreement, which is a conversation, not a button.
TODO — product owner to confirm this is the intended rule.
Both teams need to know
Section titled “Both teams need to know”Kordnate does not tell either coach. Tell them yourself, and tell the family before you do it — a child who turns up to the wrong field on Saturday remembers it.
Moving a whole team’s worth of players
Section titled “Moving a whole team’s worth of players”One at a time is the only way today. If you are re-doing every team, it is usually faster to copy the season and build the teams fresh.
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”- Removing them from one team and adding them to the other. That looks like a move and is not: it drops their sign-up, and the family gets an email saying they were removed from the league.
- Moving a player mid-game. Finish the game first, or the score sheet will not add up.
